BIOGRAPHY OF ALBERT RÈFOLS-CASAMADA: Barcelona, 1923 - 2009 He studied architecture and painting in Barcelona. In 1950, the French government awarded him a scholarship and he moved to Paris, where he received a great creative impulse when he became acquainted with post-cubist figurative painting. In 1955, back in Barcelona, Rèfols-Casamada continued to work and receive awards until the present day.

His work is characterized by a compositional elegance together with an emotive and luminous chromatic sensibility. During the 60s and 70s, after showing an interesting relationship with movements such as neo-dadaism and new realism, his work has focused on purely pictorial values in expressive harmony. At the same time, his interest in art pedagogy led him to found the Eina School in 1967.

Rèfols-Casamada has published some twenty books, mainly on poetry and art.
